PESHAWAR: In order to boost trade and business activities at district level, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to provide land of establishing chamber of commerce and industries at every district of the province.
The government believes that that by facilitating industrialists will not only encourage new businesses in the province but will also generate more job opportunities. The government had earlier announced to provide such plots but now it has been decided to implement the decision and instructions have been issued to deputy commissioners to identify land.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Industry Abdul Karim Khan said that at the request of the Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), a two-kanal plot will be allotted Chamber of commerce and industries in all 35 districts. Khan informed that the Chief Secretary of the province has sent a letter to Deputy Commissioners to allot plots to chambers from the government land.
Khan furthered that the orders for allotment of plots to chambers will be implemented soon so that all the chambers could implement the vision of the provincial government for industrial and economic development. Karim Khan said that the districts where there are no chambers, the government will allot two kanal plot, however, it will be the responsibility of the traders to establish chamber house.
Muhammad Zahid Shah, Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) said that FPCCI has a long-standing desire to setup industrial estates and chambers in every district which would boost industrial and business activities in the province. Shah thanked the KP government for allotting land for chambers houses.
He said that the provision of facilities to the business community in KP would boost the industrialization that will not only generate revenue but will also create job opportunities at the district level.
