Authorities in Peshawar have uncovered the illegal sale of government medicines at the largest healthcare facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Lady Reading Hospital.
Following investigations into the illicit trade of government medicines, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has apprehended six individuals, including three employees of Lady Reading Hospital, allegedly involved in the unauthorized sale of medicines.
According to FIA officials, the arrested suspects were implicated in the consumption and sale of government medicines worth millions of rupees, diverting supplies meant for public healthcare to unauthorized channels.
The modus operandi of the suspects reportedly involved the unauthorized sale of government medicines procured by Lady Reading Hospital, contributing to a significant loss in public resources.
Furthermore, during the investigation, FIA raids on various private hospitals in Peshawar led to the discovery of substantial quantities of government medicines sourced from the warehouses of two private medical stores.
