North Korea has allegedly dumped scores of garbage-filled bags across the border into South Korea, according to reports from international media outlets.
The bags, brimming with refuse, were purportedly tied up and flung into border areas of South Korea, causing waste to scatter far and wide upon their rupture. The garbage bags were emblazoned with words denoting their contents, highlighting the magnitude of the issue.
South Korean authorities swiftly responded to the incident by issuing directives for residents to steer clear of affected areas, deploying chemical, biological teams, and military personnel to the impacted sites.
Expressing vehement opposition, South Korea condemned North Korea’s actions as a blatant violation of global norms and a threat to public safety. They urged North Korea to desist from such inhumane and reckless conduct.
North Korea, however, justified its actions as a retaliatory measure against South Korea’s alleged dissemination of food, medicine, and propaganda leaflets into its territory through balloons and drones.
