Former President and prominent leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Arif Alvi, delivered a poignant message advocating for dialogue with legitimate stakeholders while denouncing the influence of power brokers. His words struck a chord with the audience as he underscored the significance of engaging directly with homeowners, rather than succumbing to the pressures exerted by financial interests or street peddlers.
Alvi’s impassioned plea resonated with sincerity as he urged for principled negotiations, stating, “Talk to the homeowner, not the street peddler. Let’s end anger, hatred, and move forward with reconciliation.” His remarks not only dispelled apprehensions regarding the party’s return to democracy but also affirmed their commitment to grassroots engagement.
Highlighting the imperatives for national progress, Alvi advocated for the restoration of rule of law, the return of mandates, and the exoneration of PTI founders, including Faez Ahmed Faez. He reiterated, “They label everyone as traitors; they didn’t spare even Faez Ahmed Faez.”
Moreover, Alvi emphasized the need for authentic dialogue, cautioning against engaging with those who have manipulated their way into power. “Who do we negotiate with? Those who have come into power through manipulation? Give them authority, these Form 47 people are not even street peddlers. Street peddlers have some dignity,” he articulated.
In a final rallying cry, Alvi stressed the importance of genuine representation, stating, “Form 47 people are not worthy of being among 50 individuals. Dialogue must be with the homeowner, not with financial interests or street peddlers.”
