Iran has issued a stern warning to Israel – if you dare to attack Hezbollah in Lebanon, you’ll be signing your own death warrant.
According to Iran’s mission to the UN, any “imprudent decision” by Israel to target the Lebanese resistance group would plunge the region into an “obliterating war” that would lead to the “destruction of Lebanon’s infrastructure as well as that of the 1948 occupied territories.”
Iran made it crystal clear that Hezbollah has the capability to defend itself and Lebanon, and that Israel would be the “ultimate loser” in such a conflict. The Iranian envoy even suggested that perhaps “the time for the self-annihilation of this illegitimate regime has come.”
This warning comes as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have reached a boiling point, with the Israeli Prime Minister vowing to uproot Hezbollah after the group’s attacks on Israeli soil. The top US general has also cautioned that an Israeli offensive in Lebanon risks drawing in Iran and Iran-aligned militants, potentially sparking a broader regional war.
It’s clear that Iran and its proxies are prepared to go to the mat to defend Hezbollah. Israel would be playing with fire if it thinks it can take on this formidable foe without facing devastating consequences. The ball is in Israel’s court, but they’d be wise to tread carefully and avoid lighting the fuse that could blow up the entire region.
