As a relentless heat wave grips the nation, there’s a glimmer of relief on the horizon with the imminent arrival of rain-bringing winds today.
Across the country, regions remain sweltering under severe heat, although some areas have experienced a slight respite thanks to recent rainfall, notably in various parts of Islamabad.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted the arrival of monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, expected to reach northern regions starting tomorrow. This brings hope for widespread rain lasting until July 7 across Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Kashmir.
Amidst these developments, the Meteorological Department has identified 11 districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as highly susceptible to flooding during the monsoon season. Consequently, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued moderate flood alerts for 14 districts, urging relevant agencies to educate citizens on handling potential flood situations effectively.
