Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has called for new elections amidst ongoing legal proceedings. This call comes during the hearing of a £190 million reference in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, where Imran Khan engaged in an informal discussion with journalists.
Addressing queries about seat allocations, Imran Khan emphasized the necessity for transparent governance and fair electoral processes. He expressed skepticism about the benefits of being in power without ensuring clear mandates and avoiding coalition disruptions after seat distributions. According to him, safeguarding the nation’s interests hinges upon conducting elections that are unblemished and open to scrutiny.
Looking ahead, Imran Khan warned of a tougher upcoming budget compared to the current one, predicting heavier taxation burden on the public. He stressed the need for fiscal prudence and equitable distribution of resources to alleviate economic pressures on ordinary citizens.
