The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has taken custody of Imran Khan, the prominent founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, in connection with the Tosha Khana case. The arrest was led by Deputy Director NAB Mohsin Haroon, overseeing a team that apprehended both individuals.
Earlier, investigative officers from Lahore swiftly proceeded to Adiala Jail, accompanied by a team led by SP of Lahore Police, duly authorized by the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court. This move underscores the gravity of the allegations being investigated.
Sources indicate that there is a possibility of further legal action against other PTI members implicated in related proceedings. Despite earlier bail grants in three cases on May 9, which had temporarily shielded Imran Khan from arrest, recent developments have overturned these bail provisions.
The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court’s decision to revoke these bail bonds set the stage for renewed legal scrutiny, prompting police officials to move swiftly. However, it is noteworthy that Imran Khan’s apprehension did not materialize immediately following the bail cancellations, highlighting the complex legal landscape surrounding the case.
Inside Adiala Jail, where procedural formalities were completed, a small contingent of Lahore police officers, including Inspector Munir, Arham, and Akmal, facilitated the transition.
