KARACHI: Hot and humid weather persisted here in the Metropolis on Thursday while two more deaths were reported due to heatwave during past couple of days.
According to the provincial Health authorities, two more people last their lives due to heat stroke at Civil Hospital, taking the toll to 51 from June this year.
The severe heatwave made life miserable for people in Sindh’s capital while hours-long un-announced load shedding also added citizen’s miseries.
According to a Met office report, mercury touches 37°C in the city as compared to yesterday’s 40.5°C which in reality felt like a scorching 56°C.
The health department revealed that nearly 50 heatstroke cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that the current temperature in the Metropolis stands at 37°C which feels like 54°C with humidity levels standing at 64%.
