PESHAWAR: The provincial government has decided to sell additional land of Bacha Khan Medical College, Agriculture, Engineering University and other educational institutions in Mardan, the decision in this connection was taken in a cabinet meeting held recently, a document revealed here.
The decision to sell the additional land was taken by the provincial cabinet, the document said. A total of 5000 kanals of land was purchased for educational institutions and 2000 Kanals Wali Khan University, 14 institutions in Medical City on 1000 Kanal, and Sports Complex, said the document.
Likewise, 400 kanals were allocated for the engineering university and 16 kanals for the agricultural university. A committee was formed to determine the price of land and the decision was taken to return the land to the owners for money while the committee would determine the price of the land.
It was also decided to auction the land after lack of interest from the original owners. The committee headed by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister retired Brigadier Abbasi.
