The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Normalization Committee has issued a lifetime ban on 22 individuals, including former PFF President Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah, for their role in taking over the PFF House and establishing a parallel football body.
This significant move targets key figures such as Ashfaq Hussain Shah, Amir Dogar, and Sardar Naveed Haider, along with others like Sharafat Hussain Bukhari, Naveed Akram, and Rahim Baloch.
The committee’s investigation revealed that these individuals violated Article 70 of the PFF Constitution by creating a parallel organization, a clear breach of the federation’s rules. As a result, they have been declared ‘Persona non grata’ and are now permanently barred from any football-related activities in the country.
The Normalization Committee has also demanded that all banned individuals return PFF assets, including official vehicles, within seven days. Failure to do so will result in criminal charges being filed against them.
This disciplinary action stems from an attack on the PFF House on March 27, 2021, which led to Pakistan’s suspension from international football and tarnished the country’s reputation. The investigation uncovered the illegal seizure of PFF property, embezzlement of over four million rupees, and the destruction of vital assets during the incident.
The PFF has ordered all its departments to strictly enforce the Disciplinary Committee’s decision. They have warned that anyone attempting to associate with these banned individuals will face severe consequences.
Those affected by the ban have the right to appeal within 15 days, but they must follow the procedures outlined in the PFF Disciplinary Code and Ethics to do so.
