Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has openly expressed his opposition to the proposed constitutional amendments.
Speaking to media representatives in Peshawar, Gandapur emphasized that Islam is a religion of peace and that “we are a peaceful people.” He further prayed that Allah removes hatred from people’s hearts.
While discussing the controversial amendments, the Chief Minister called them a direct assault on democracy, stating, “These amendments are an attack on democracy, and we will not let them succeed. How could they even think of introducing such a bill in a democratic setup?”
Ali Amin Gandapur went on to stress that his government stands firmly with the judiciary. He declared that they would defeat these amendments in parliament and continue to stand for their legitimate rights. “The idea of passing such a bill is far-fetched; they won’t even manage to present it in the assembly,” he remarked with determination.
With these strong words, the Chief Minister made it clear that his administration is committed to protecting democracy and supporting the judiciary, ensuring that any efforts to undermine these institutions will be firmly resisted.
