A drone attack by Hezbollah in northern Israel injured at least 67 people, with four in critical condition. The assault targeted a training camp for the Golani Brigade in Binyamina, south of Haifa.
4 Israeli soldiers killed: Meanwhile, Israel says 4 soldiers killed in Hezbollah drone strike on military base.
“Yesterday, a UAV launched by the Hezbollah terrorist organisation hit an army base adjacent to Binyamina,” the Israeli military said in a statement.
“Four IDF (army) soldiers were killed in the incident and an additional seven were severely injured,” the statement added.
Israeli Army Radio reported that the attack resulted in a significant number of casualties, including injuries from explosions in the Binyamina area. Residents of Haifa and surrounding settlements reported hearing explosions without any prior sirens activated.
The drone targeted the Binyamina area near Qaysariya, south of Haifa. The Israeli army attributed the attack to a drone launched from Lebanon, highlighting deficiencies in their detection capabilities.
In response to the incident, the Israeli army has launched an investigation into the failure to activate sirens as the drone entered northern Israel. Hezbollah confirmed the use of a swarm of attack drones in the operation.
