PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced party’s organizational structure, appointing Pervez Khattak as president in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said in a twitter post that Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar will be PTI’S new General Secretary while Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi will lead the party in Sindh, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri in Balochistan, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood in Punjab and Khusro Bakhtiar in South Punjab.

After the defeat in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local government elections, Imran Khan had dissolved all PTI organizations across the country, expressing anger over complaints of giving tickets to families against merit.
Yesterday, all the office bearers including the PTI’s chief organisers have been removed from their posts and new constitutional committee has been constituted which will include all the senior leadership of the party. Fawad Chaudhry had said that a committee headed by the top leadership of PTI including the central leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was working on the new constitution and the same committee will also introduce a new structure of the party.
The minister informed that the Prime minister made it clear that for the next local government elections, the party leaders will not be allowed to field their relatives as he will himself monitor the nomination of candidates for every constituency. Fawad Chaudhry further said that PTI does not believe in family politics. “There will be no difference between PTI and other parties, if the practices of awarding tickets to family members was not stopped,” Fawad Chaudhry said.
