PESHAWAR: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the price of electricity by Rs4.30 per unit, said a notification issued on Thursday.
According to the notification, the increase in electricity price has been made in the context of November’s monthly fuel adjustment charges. The consumers will pay the charges in the January electricity bills. The increase in electricity bills will not be applicable to K-electric and lifeline customers.
Meanwhile, it is also expected that government will further increase the price of petroleum commodities after the rise of oil prices in the global market. According to sources, petrol is expected to cross Rs150 per liter for the first time in the history of the country. Oil marketing sources said that petrol price is likely to go up to Rs65 per liter while diesel by Rs6 per liter from 16 January.
