Educational institutions to remain closed till Sep 15
PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Friday notified that the closure of all public and private educational institutions in nine districts of the province has been extended till September 15. A notification issued here by Higher Education department said that in pursuance of decisions taken in NCOC meeting dated September 9, the competent authority has extended the closure of education institutions in Peshawar, Swabi, Malakand, Swat, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, DI Khan and Mardan. It said that the instructions were subject to be reviewed in light of the further directions issued by NCOC or the provincial government. It is to mention here that earlier all educational institutions in the nine districts of the province were closed till September 12 due to increase in corona cases in these districts and the administrations of the institutions were asked to hold online classes. In the meanwhile, the Elementary and Secondary Education department notified that unvaccinated staff would not be allowed in schools, it also warned that the educational institutions could possibly be kept closed until the vaccination of all the staff against corona infection. – APP
