Court dismisses Talpur’s petition against freezing of her bank accounts
ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court (AC) Tuesday dismissed a petition of PPP’s leader Faryal Talpur seeking to unfreeze her personal bank accounts in fake accounts references and mega money laundering scam.
The court, however, ordered the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to restore the accounts of her children in the same graft cases.
AC-II Judge Azam Khan announced the judgment which was reserved on last hearing on a plea filed by former president Asif Ali Zardari’s sister Faryal Talpur challenging freezing of her accounts.
The court order stated that Talpur’s accounts would remain frozen while ordering to unfreeze the accounts of her children.
It may be mentioned here that the SBP had frozen the accounts of Talpur and her children on recommendation of National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The accused had challenged the move before the trial court stating that her personal accounts had no connection with the fake accounts. – APP
