Actual number of coronavirus cases is less than projections: NCOC

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza on Friday said that the actual number of positive cases of coronavirus is less than projections which is a positive development, Dunya News reports.
A meeting of National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) chaired by Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar reviewed the situation regarding COVID-19.
Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza gave a detailed overview of the latest situation of COVID-19 with projections and measures to enhance present testing capacity.
The meeting reviewed the matter of bringing back stranded Pakistanis in Afghanistan. The meeting was told that these Pakistanis would have to undergo a check under the current SOPs after returning.
The meeting also discussed supply of essential food items from Iran to four border districts of Balochistan following strict compliance to instructions issued by the health ministry.
The forum was also informed that cargo move to Afghanistan is only for food and medicine items thrice a week as per health guidelines.
The meeting noted with satisfaction regarding improvement in recovery ratio of COVID-19 patients.
