Dollar climbs to Rs168.18
KARACHI: The US dollar gained Re0.52 against Pakistani rupee to reach 168.18 in the interbank on Monday. According to a tweet of State Bank of Pakistan, the US dollar was opened at Rs167.66 and closed at Rs168.18. The US dollar gained Re0.30 against Pakistani rupee on Friday last.
Stock rebound after terror bid foiled
Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed on a positive note despite terrorist attack at the bourse as the security agencies took over the situation in quick time on Monday. The attack sent the KSE 100 index down 220 points as investors heard the news of the attack. However, a few hours after the attack was thwarted, the KSE 100 staged a sharp recovery and was seen surging 398 points from the day’s low. At the close, the KSE 100 surged to 34,181.8 points after gaining 242.31 points (+0.71 percent).
Participation level decreased to 152 million shares traded as compared to 198 million shares traded in the previous session. - TLTP
