Pakistan, Turkish Standards Institution sign MoU to facilitate mutual trade
KARACHI: Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) and Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to encourage both the countries to harmonize their standards and conformity assessment procedures with respect to products, processes and services with an objective to further facilitate mutual trade.
The MoU was signed during visit of high level Turkish delegation led by President Tayyip Erdogan in Pakistan, said a statement issued by spokesman of PSQCA here.
Director General, PSQCA Dr. Abdul Aleem Memon and his Turkish counterpart Prof. Dr. Adem Sahin signed MoU at PM House, Islamabad.
Business community from both sides can get useful technical information about standards, conformity assessment procedures applicable to product in either country.
This MoU will be helpful to remove technical barriers between two countries.
Both the organizations, PSQCA and TSE, are the member of International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) and Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC). – APP
