PESHAWAR: ANP threatened to leave the government coalition if the by-elections were postponed.
ANP provincial president Amil Wali Khan said in a tweet that if the by-elections are postponed further, ANP will not participate in the elections.
He said that if the by-elections are postponed, ANP will not be part of the government alliance.
Amil Wali Khan said that ANP has officially informed the federal government about its decision.
It should be noted that yesterday the Federal Ministry of Interior had written a letter to the Election Commission to postpone the October 16 by-elections.
Polling in the by-elections for 9 seats of the National Assembly and 3 seats of the Punjab Assembly will be held on October 16.
Imran Khan is a candidate in 8 constituencies of the National Assembly.
It should be noted that Awami National Party is currently included in the government coalition.
