Washington: President Joe Biden aprises of the outcomes of the decision taken by Opec+.
Biden was highly offended as Opec+ announced cutting down on 2 million barrels of crude oil per day. The 13-nation-led Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and their Russian-led allies took the decision to reverse the massive drop in crude oil prices due to Covid-19. The president has been re-evaluating his relationship with Saudi Arabia ever since the decision was taken.
Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, thus stated that all the operations of the United States with Saudi Arabia must cease, including the sales of weapons.
Biden, in an interview with CNN, refused to disclose his plans. The President told the media that there will definitely be consequences of the decision taken by Opec+.
Karine Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary, stated that a policy review would be conducted by the US. The press secretary did not provide any specific timeline for action or intimation of the person that will lead the re-evaluation.
Moreover, the United States of America has decided to watch the situation closely for a few weeks and take a close observation.

Opec+ announced a massive decrease in oil distribution in the previous week. The US has been secretly persuading its biggest Arab partner to take the decision back.
The clash between the two countries is owing to a conflict between Joe Biden and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman during Biden’s visit to Jeddah in July over the demise of Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post journalist.
