The photograph features a beautiful sight of Tharparker Sindh celebrating Diwali, an important Hindu festival. The entire town is lit with diyas and thundered with fireworks.
The celebration witnessed in Thar revives the true spirit for which Pakistan was made. A land where everyone is secure, welcomed and accepted. Where everyone is safe, regardless of the religion they belong to. Where you are free to practice your faith, where there is peace and harmony.
About half a million people reside in Thar, the largest desert in Pakistan. Of the total population, 70% are Hindus. The Muslims and Hindus live peacefully together in mud houses. Moreover, people of two very opposite faiths actively participate in each other’s religious celebrations.
