About 1 million people every year die of the deadly Hepatitis C across the globe. Due to the lack of diagnosis, eight out of every ten patients are unaware of the fact that they are suffering from this fatal disease.
Hepatitis has become a major cause of concern throughout the world. The proportion of hepatitis C patients worldwide is highest in Pakistan, followed by China, India and Nigeria. According to a careful estimate, the number of hepatitis patients has exceeded 12 million in the country.
Lack of timely diagnosis is the primary cause of death due to this deadly disease. Around 700,000 people around the world are infected with hepatitis B every year. Whereas more than 300,000 people die due to hepatitis C.
Medical experts believe that timely diagnosis and treatment can aid in getting rid of this fatal disease. Although the World Health Organization has committed to a hepatitis free world by 2030, the rapidly increasing number of patients in Pakistan is incredibly alarming.
