The Indian Border Security Force and Punjab Police claim that a drone originating from the Pakistan side infiltrated the Amritsar sector, dropping a staggering 5.5 kg of heroin within Indian territory in the early hours of Saturday.
According to the BSF spokesperson, the alert troops detected the drone’s intrusion and immediately sprung into action. Reports suggest that a loud thud in a farming field near Rai village caught their attention, leading to the recovery of a suspicious packet wrapped in yellow adhesive tape. Upon investigation, it was found to contain a massive haul of heroin divided into five packets.
This marks the third incident in as many days in the Amritsar sector, further emphasizing the urgency of curbing this rampant drug trade. In a joint effort, the BSF and Punjab Police had recently intercepted another drone in the same village, seizing 5 kg of heroin. Additionally, just a day prior, a drone was successfully shot down near Bhaini Rajputana village.
