The Philippines is a country of breathtaking natural beauty, diverse culture, and hospitable people. It is also a country that welcomes Muslim travelers with open arms, offering them a range of halal-friendly options and services. This is the message that Miss Universe Pakistan, Erica Robin, wants to share with the world.
Erica Robin is not just a stunning beauty queen; she is also a passionate advocate for halal tourism, a niche market that caters to the needs and preferences of Muslim travelers. She believes that the Philippines has the potential to become a leading destination for this segment, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
She visited the Philippines as part of her training for the Miss Universe 2023 pageant, which will be held in El Salvador later this year. During her stay, she explored various attractions and activities that showcase the country’s halal tourism offerings, such as the Farm at San Benito, a wellness resort that provides halal-certified food and spa treatments.
She also collaborated with Miss Universe Bahrain, Lujane Yacoub, who shares her vision of promoting the Philippines as a Muslim-friendly destination. Together, they represented their countries and cultures in a spirit of friendship and cooperation.
Erica Robin hopes that her visit will inspire more Muslim travelers to discover the Philippines and its wonders. She says: “I want to show them that there is so much more to see and do here than just beaches and islands. There are also historical sites, cultural events, shopping malls, entertainment venues, and more. And most importantly, there are people who respect and appreciate our faith and values.”
