Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has initiated talks with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) to incorporate independent candidates into its fold. According to details, PTI leader Barrister Gohar contacted Jamaat-e-Islami’s head of political affairs, Behraullah, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, expressing interest in the inclusion of their members into PTI.
Behraullah, an advocate, requested time for consultation with the party leadership, indicating that a response could only be given after consulting with the leadership. However, both parties have agreed to maintain communication in the meantime. It is evident that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PTI-backed independent candidates are leading with a clear margin in 91 seats, while JUI has succeeded in 7 and PML-N in 5 seats.
Furthermore, if we consider the final and official results of the National Assembly, PTI-backed independent candidates have also been successful in 100 seats.
