PESHAWAR: A policeman sustained minor injuries after a mobile van was targeted with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday morning.
The District Police Officer (DPO) DI Khan informed that the incident occurred in Kolachi area of the district that only damaged the mobile van but a policeman also received minor injuries. He was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot. The police have engaged the terrorists in a clash but they managed to escape. A search operation has been launched to nab the miscreants.

On 20 February, the Security forces on have foiled a major terror plot, killed five terrorists and apprehended two Islamic States (IS) militants. The KP police said that during a search operation; 20 maund explosives were recovered from Hasan Khel village of Lakki Marwat district. The security forces further said that three terrorists have also been arrested. A total of 157 detonators, Kalashnikov rifles, 1,100 meters of fuse used in blasts were also recovered. The police claimed that the terrorists were planning attacks on sensitive government installations, religious sites and security forces in the province.
