PESHAWAR: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that Rangers and Frontier Corps will handle security of parliament house during voting process on no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Addressing a news conference, Interior Minister said that the opposition lacks 172 lawmakers, required for the success of no confidence motion. He said, “I am fully confident that the opposition political parties lack numbers to de-seat the prime minister.” The minister accused the government of creating chaos in Islamabad before voting on the no-confidence motion.

He said that directions have been issued to Chief Secretary and KP Inspector General of police to stop the entry of Ansar-ul-Islam activists to Islamabad in their yellow uniform. The Home Minister said that the no-confidence motion is a democratic right of the opposition but no one has the right to spread terror in Islamabad through private militia. He vowed that strict action will be taken against all those violating the law of the land.
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami (JUI-F) chief Mualan Fazlur Rehman withdraws the protest call after the release all activists of religious political party arrested during an operation in Parliament Lodges. According to a statement issued by the police on Friday morning, the activists were released on personal bail and made it clear the no lawmaker was arrested “All JUI workers have been released before on Friday morning. So there is no need to take to the streets,” the JUIF chief urged the party workers.
The home minister said that Pakistan Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa will stand by democracy. “If any MNA needs security, let us know. We are ready to give them complete security. Later, do not blame the Home Minister, if any of the lawmaker could not arrive to the assembly on voting day.” he said.
