A wildfire erupted in the forests of the Zarghoon Mountains situated in Balochistan’s Musa Khel district, and has persisted uncontrollably for the past three days.
The outbreak of the fire, which occurred suddenly on Thursday, has posed significant challenges to containment efforts despite ongoing attempts.
The magnitude of the blaze is such that its towering flames can be observed from Musa Khel city, located approximately 18 kilometers away. The relentless spread of the fire has inflicted substantial damage on the olive groves and habitats of local wildlife.
Despite directives issued by Balochistan’s Chief Minister to swiftly address the situation, local residents lament that the fire remains unchecked, exacerbating concerns about its potential impact.
Efforts to combat the wildfire continue amidst mounting apprehension over its enduring threat to the region’s environment and communities.
