Bollywood actor and producer Farhan Akhtar has finally married his girlfriend Shaibani Dandekar on 19 February. According to Indian media, the couple kept their marriage very simple and swore to spend the rest of their lives together.
Farhan and Sheibani wrote different oaths which they recited in the presence of all the guests. According to Indian media reports, the wedding has been held at the farmhouse of Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi in Khandala. Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, Amrita Arora, Rhea Chakraborty, Anusha Dandekar attended the ceremony.
Earlier, it was informed that the couple will marry under the religion of Islam and both will also perform Hindu religious rites. Shabani Dandekar is a Hindu woman of Marathi descent while Farhan Akhtar is a Muslim. There were reports that Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar had submitted an application for legal registration of marriage in January last year.
The Indian media had earlier reported that Farhan Akhtar, 47, and Shabani Dandekar, 41, would get married in March, this year. However, earlier this month, Akhtar’s father, filmmaker Javed Akhtar, had confirmed that his son will get married this month.
It was Akhtar’s second marriages and Dandekar’s first. Akhtar was married to hair stylist Adhuna Bhabani in 2000, but due to unknown reasons, the couple ended their 17-year marriage in 2017. They also have two daughters.
