PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has announced to table no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Talking to media after the PDM meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that they will also convince the government allies before the move. The meeting was attended by leaders of opposition parties while Nawaz Sharif participated via video link. Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that a team has been formed to liaise with the coalition parties of the government.

However, he said they will not contact the PTI members but would welcome every members of the ruling party to join the alliance against the “selected” ruler. The PDM chief clarified that no no-trust move could be brought without the coalition parties of the government.
The PDM meeting was also attended by Akram Durrani, Hamza Shahbaz, Maryam Nawaz, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Ataullah Tarar, Rana Sanaullah, Abid Sher Ali and Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao.
Before the meeting, PML-N central leader Rana Sanaullah said that the date for no-confidence will be fixed by Nawaz Sharif and the leaders of other opposition parties. Earlier, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has sought the support of Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for the non-confidence motion against the Prime Minister Imran Khan. The delegation of MQM comprising its Deputy Convener Amir Khan and former Mayor of Karachi Wasim Akhtar had called on the PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore. The MQM had said that they are unable to take any decision till the opposition made their agenda clear.
The Awami National party has also announced that they will support the no-confidence motion against the ruling party.
Minutes after the PDM announcement, the government said that the opposition does not have the required number in parliament to launch the no-trust motion against PM. Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed downplayed the announcement, saying that PDM will neither bring no-trust move nor the “long march” to Islamabad on March 23.
