PESHAWAR: Speaker Asad Qaiser adjourned the National Assembly session until Monday, March 28, after offering fatiha for late parliamentarians, including former President Rafiq Tarar, Senator Rehman Malik, victims of Peshawar mosque blast and other terror attacks.
The adjourned the sitting, saying that it was part of parliament’s tradition that if a member passes away, the sitting will be adjourned for one day.

The agenda of today’s session also included discussion on the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister. Speaker, Asad Qaiser, assured that he will conduct proceeding of the house on the no-trust motion in accordance with the law. A 15-point agenda was also released which included a no-confidence motion.
Extraordinary security arrangements have been made for the National Assembly session and section 144 was enforced in the red zone and the sensitive area was completely sealed off. Islamabad Police, Rangers and FC personnel were deployed at various places. The directives have been issued that lawmakers will be required to park their vehicles in designated parking lots, and shuttle service will be provided from Parliament Lodges to Parliament House.
The Federal Capital Territory Traffic Police said that entry and exit to the red zone will be allowed only from Margalla Road and Serena Chowk, Nadra Chowk, Express Chowk and Ayub Chowk will remain closed for entry and exit.
Critics are of the view that adjournment of the house without proceeding was the part of government strategy to delay voting on the no-confidence motion. The Prime Minister has said that the allies party would not disappoint the government would support PTI. The Prime Minister said that the non-formal announcement of the allies shows that they still support the government. He hoped that the Supreme Court will also issue it verdict in government favour.
