PESHAWAR: The National Assembly session is expected today (Monday) afternoon where the opposition political parties are likely to table the no-trust motion Prime Minister Imran Khan as it is on the agenda of the session.
The agenda stated that if permission is granted, the opposition will present a no-confidence motion which has the signatures of 152 opposition members.

The united opposition political parties have 162 members in the National Assembly, but three MNAs were absent from Friday’s session. One of the three independent members, Ali Wazir who is imprisoned in Karachi jail, Jam Abdul Karim, a PPP member is abroad. Similarly, Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, a member of National Assembly from Chitral belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami was also absent from the session.
Chitrali has not yet made a clear announcement to support the opposition in the no-confidence motion and is awaiting the party’s instructions.
On the other hand, the allies of the ruling party PTI have not yet shown their cards, as promised by PM Imran Khan. The main coalition parties of the government, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM) and PML-Q are in constant touch with the opposition as well as with the government but they have not yet made any formal announcement.
Similarly, Shah Zain Bugti, an adviser to Prime Minister Imran Khan and the leader of Islami Jamhoori Ittehad, has resigned from his post. Addressing a press conference with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday, Shah Zain Bugti said, “We were given a mandate to improve the situation, restore peace but the government failed to fulfil its commitments.” Bugti said that the confidence of the people in Balochistan has been hurt. “We are announcing our resignation from the federal cabinet and will support the opposition on no-confidence motion against the PM.”
