PESHAWAR: Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday said that voting on no-trust motion will be held on April 3.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Sheikh Rashid said that the no-confidence motion will be debated on April 31, after which the voting would take place on April 3. He was not sure about the PM Imran Khan victory in the no-trust motion but said that massive political rallies have proved that “nation stands with Imran Khan.”

Rashid said that the PML-Q has assured support to PTI and hoped that the MQM will also extend support to the ruling party as they have very decisive role. He said that they are also waiting for the verdict of the Supreme Court. Sheikh Rashid informed that he is in favour of immediate elections to address the current political uncertainty.
He also rejected the reports of rifts in Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) after announcing support for the ruling party in the election. Earlier, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain also issued a statement in response to reports of differences in the party. He said that all political decisions have been taken with his consultation and “the family and party are on the same page.”
Yesterday, the Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed demanded for fresh elections after Hajj and budget to resolve the current political uncertainty. Talking with Geo News, he said that he has also advised PM to dissolve Punjab assembly and the country should move towards early elections. The minister said the National institutions are supporting the PTI-led government and there is no change expected in military leadership. Sheikh Rashid had earlier demanded the PM to dissolve Sindh assembly and declare governor rule in the province.
