PESHAWAR: Akbar S. Babar, a former leader of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has said that the country is ‘heading towards anarchy’ until Election Commission of Pakistan announces its judgement in PTI foreign funding case.
Talking to reporters outside the Election Commission on Tuesday, Akbar S. Babar accused the government of excuses to postpone the case. He said that due to the PTI excuses, the case hearing was once again delayed on Tuesday [today]. “I have informed the nation seven year ago that catastrophe was imminent,” Babar said while talking to media persons.

Referring to the report of the scrutiny committee, he said that all the evidence has come to light against the ruling party therefore, the ECP should decide the case and announce the judgment without further delay. He said the verdict in the case could come in 2018, before the general election, but it was delayed.
Akbar S. Babar sharply criticised the Prime Minister and said that he should resign after the scrutiny committee report. He said that it would be difficult for Imran Khan to hide reality and one day the report of scrutiny committee and judgment in the case would be announced. Babar also slammed the government for rally on the day of voting on the no-confidence motion, saying, “Imran Khan is forcing the people on rallies for his interests. We will not allow this to happen.”
He addressed the workers for the formation of a new faction in the PTI. “lets contact old comrades, invite everyone for meeting in Islamabad, hold a convention and revive the PTI,” Akbar S. Babar said. He also challenged Imran Khan to have a live discussion with him on TV on his alleged foreign funding.
