PESHAWAR: The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) on Wednesday announced lifting of all Coronavirus-related restrictions after significant decline in cases across the country.
Addressing a news conference, the National Command and Operations Center head and Federal Minister Asad Omar and Special Health Assistant to Prime Minister on health Dr Faisal Sultan said that the number of Coronavirus cases has been steadily declining thus all restrictions are being lifted.
The minister informed that 70% of population have been fully vaccinated across the country. However, the he warned that the pandemic is not over, therefore the people have to support the government in its complete eradication.

The minister said, “The vaccination ban will remain in place, because the coronavirus pandemic is not yet completely subsided. Lifting restrictions may increase the number of cases, but the government can take action again,” he said. Umar said that the people have largely complied with the instructions of the NCOC, so restrictions imposed on wedding ceremonies, markets, bazaars, outdoor events, sports activities, religious gatherings are being lifted.
Earlier, the sources said that the government has decided to close down the federal committee on Covid-19 which is expected to be announced soon. The NCOC’s responsibilities will be assigned to National Institutes of Health.
Dr Faisal Sultan has said that a memorial was being constructed in Islamabad for successfully tackling the Coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to announce the monument and the formal de-notification of NCOC.
