PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government extended the tenure Performance Management and Reforms Unit (PMRU) for another three years and approved Rs350 million for its expenditure.
According to sources, the administrative department had asked for the recruitment of 22 officials for management and reforms unit, however, it was reduced to 10 with 20 interns.

Under the scheme approved by the planning and development department, a monthly salary of Rs183, 000 and special allowance of Rs200, 000 has been approved for Grade 19 director while Rs94, 000 has been approved for Grade 17 Assistant Director of the unit. The monthly salary for six Deputy Directors of Grade 18 will be Rs131, 000 with a special allowance of Rs1.5 lakh.
The government has approved Rs63, 000 per month each for Grade 16 Social Media Assistant, Data Validation Assistant, Data Verification Assistant, User Interface User Experience Designer, Office Assistant, Senior Auditor, and Personal Assistant to the Director, seven Computer Operators, Graphic Designers and Non-Linear Editors.
Two senior clerks of grade 14 will also be provided a monthly salary of Rs42, 000 and special allowance of Rs25, 000, two junior clerks of scale 11 will be get a salary of Rs31, 500 each. Similarly, Rs9 lakh pension and Rs60 lakh honorarium have also been approved for the employees of the unit. At present there are four interns in the unit. While recruiting 20 more new interns, they will be paid Rs25, 000 per month.
Software and hardware will also be procured for the unit at a cost of Rs7.25 million of which 25 laptops will be purchased for Rs3.37 million. Besides this, Rs7.5 million has been approved for travel expenses, Rs1.8 million for fuel, Rs4.5 million for telephone, internet and others, Rs9 lakh for repair of vehicles, Rs1.5 million for repair of existing machinery and furniture, Rs4.5 million for office and computer stationery, Rs0.6 million for purchase of newspapers and magazines, Rs3 million for social media campaigns and advertisements.
