PESHAWAR: The Mutahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that they have options open on the no-confidence motion of the opposition political parties against the PTI government.
Talking to media after offering Fateha at Mazar-e-Iqbal, the MQM leader said that high inflation is a major problem. “We have asked the Prime Minister for more seriousness on inflation. We will stand by the government if it shows seriousness to tackle inflation but the current situation prevails then MQM have more options,” The MQM leader said. He said that the next two days are very important regarding the no-confidence motion of the opposition political parties against the government.

He further said that PPP has not got any mandate in Karachi for the fifty years.
Meanwhile, another major meeting of the three opposition leaders – Maulana Fazlur Rehman, former president Asif Ali Zardari and Shahbaz Sharif – expected this week to table a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister. The three leaders are likely to meet in Lahore and it is also expected that no-confidence motion against the prime minister will be presented in the parliament this week.
In the light of the committee’s recommendations, the three leaders would consider future strategies. Former Presidents Asif Ali Zardari, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Shahbaz Sharif will also brief Nawaz Sharif on the progress made so far.
Earlier, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Mian Shahbaz Sharif had a telephone conversation. According to the party sources, the two leaders discussed the no-trust motion and the current political situation. The two leaders discussed ways to intensify the anti-government movement and also agreed on legal and constitutional issues related to the no-confidence motion. Shahbaz Sharif took Maulana Fazlur Rehman into confidence on his meeting with Balochistan National Party – Mengal chief Akhtar Mengal.
