PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that three major terror groups in Afghanistan are active and are being used to destabilise Pakistan.
In an interview with a French magazine, the Prime Minister reiterated that peace in Afghanistan is essential for stability in the region. He said that no serious incident has taken place in Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover on 15 August last year. PM Khan demanded the Afghan government to stop the use Afghan soil against Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said that there are 40 million people living in Afghanistan. Talking about recognising the Taliban government, the PM said that Pakistan cannot recognise Taliban alone therefore, the world has to recognise the Taliban first.
He claimed that the world has no other option but to work with the Taliban to stop another human tragedy in Afghanistan. When asked about Pakistan relations with France, he said: “Relations with France are very important because half of Pakistan’s exports go to Europe. My goal is to revive the national economy. He said that currently, there is no tour schedule at the moment but he would like to visit France soon.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that India has unilaterally changed the status of Kashmir. “For peace in the region, Islamabad is ready for talks with India but New Dehli has to restore Kashmir sovereign status first.” He said that the world has recognised that Kashmir is a disputed territory which India cannot declare as one its states.
On 27 Januar, the National Security Adviser Dr Moeed Yusuf said that Afghan soil is still being used against Pakistan. Yusuf said that Islamabad is not much optimistic about the Taliban government to stop terrorism against Pakistan. “Organized terror networks are operating in Afghanistan,” Yusuf said. Talking about the dialogues with the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, the adviser said that the TTP has unilaterally terminated the ceasefire agreement.
