PESHAWAR: Leader of opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif said that the success of no-confidence motion will be a “real relief” for inflation-stricken people.
He said that the prime minister has announced a so called relief as immediately after his speech, the LPG was increased by 27 per kg and there is a plan 16.37% hike of natural gas across the country. He said that in its three years tenure, the present government has made a record increase in the prices of wheat, flour, sugar, petrol, electricity and other basic commodities.
Shahbaz said that country’s trade deficit has widen by 82% on an annual basis, circular debt has increased by more than 114%, the import bill has increased by 55%, the trade deficit has been rising for eight consecutive months while circular debt of the energy sector has reached a historic level of Rs2.358 trillion in seven months.
Opposition ready for no-trust move: Fazl
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), has said that the opposition has enough numbers of lawmakers to oust PM Imran Khan through no-confidence motion, saying that next 48 hours are very important in this regard.
Talking to reporters in Islamabad, he added that in next two days are a very important regarding the decision to convene the national assembly to table the no-trust motion. Rehman also said that he was in touch with the coalition parties of the government however, they are will not be totally depended on government’s allies for the move.

The PDM chief added that he had no contact with the establishment and it was not known whether the PML-N and the PPP had any discussion with the establishment in this regard or not.
He also said that all parties have agreed on a single point to overthrow the current government. When asked what would happen next after the removal of PTI government, he said there had been no talks about forming a new government and a decision would be made in due course. He also clarified that the opposition parties were not relying on government allies. He said, “We depend on individuals.”
However, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the no-confidence motion was just a “drama” and no PTI lawmakers are ready to sell his loyalty. Qureshi while briefing the press in Mirpur Khas said that after the PML-Q response, the opposition political parties are unable to launch such a move. Qureshi claimed that there is no group within PTI and all the lawmakers are stands firm with Imran Khan.
