PESHAWAR: Amid the opposition’s move to table no-confidence motion, Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership to contact the “angry” party’s lawmakers.
During the PTI Core Committee meeting, prime minister was asked to himself contact Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan Groups. The meeting was chaired by PM Imran Khan in which Chief Minister and, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Governor Sindh, Governor Punjab, Federal Ministers Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Pervez Khattak, Babar Awan and other PTI members participated.

The meeting reviewed the current political situation and strategies to counter the opposition’s no-confidence motion. The committee was briefed on the talks so far made with disgruntled PTI members. They also discussed Jahangir Tareen-Aleem Khan alliance. Governor Sindh Imran Ismail said that he will pay an emergency visit to Lahore and will meet Aleem Khan today.
The Prime Minister directed Imran Ismail and Pervez Khattak to contact the angry PTI members. Senior party leaders advised the Prime Minister to contact the angry members himself Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan himself.
Adviser Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Babar Awan briefed the core committee on legal issues and preparations for local government elections. Meanwhile, Prime Minister yesterday once again adjourned the meeting of Federal Cabinet for the third consecutive week.
The Punjab Assembly member and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Aleem Khan met more than 40 members of Provincial Assembly in past 3 days and will attend meeting with Jahangir Tareen group to adopt a joint political strategy amid the current political crisis, Samaa TV has reported.
The report said that a joint strategy will be adopted by uniting all the disgruntled groups in the ruling party but their names will be kept secret till the political scenario is clear. The report said that among the 40 members, Aleem Khan met, were 10 Punjab ministers. Apart from this, the senior leadership of PML-N has also contacted Aleem Khan to seek his support for the no-trust move against the Prime Minister and chief minister Punjab.
