IHC summons secretaries Interior, Railways in Tezgam train fire incident case
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday summoned federal secretaries Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Railways in a case pertaining to the Tezgam train fire incident.

The bench express displeasure for not submission of incident’s inquiry report before the court and directed the secretaries of the ministries to appear before the court in person.

A single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani conducted hearing on a petition related to the Tezgam train fire incident.

During course of proceeding, Justice Kiyani remarked that five months had been passed but no inquiry report had been submitted to the court by the authorities concerned.

He asked the officials that the court would pass orders if the ministries didn’t implement the directives. The innocent people had lost their lives in the fire incident but federal government was still unaware regarding the registration of first information report (FIR), he further remarked. The court also ordered the case investigation officer to appear before the bench on February 24, the next hearing. The petitioner, Hanif Rahi Advocate pleaded that even the FIR of the incident was not registered in the concerned police station. – APP
